Support Worker
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team at Family 1st Care Services. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to individuals with unique needs, including children with special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and quality of life for those in your care.
Formal qualifications are mandatory for new employees entering the field of disability care. We require you to complete either a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a Certificate IV in Disability.
Additionally, existing employees within the disability sector have the option to upgrade their qualifications without incurring any expenses.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following qualifications:

Working with Children Check: A valid and current Working with Children Check is required for this role to ensure the safety and protection of the individuals we serve.

NDIS Screening Online: Successful completion of the NDIS Screening Online is mandatory, demonstrating your commitment to the highest standard of care.

Police Clearance: A current Police Clearance is essential to ensure the safety and security of our clients. This clearance verifies your suitability for working in a caregiving role.

NDIS Online Modules: Successful completion of the NDIS Online Modules is a requirement for this position. These modules provide you with valuable knowledge and skills needed to provide top-quality care and support.

Certificate III in Individual Support: This qualification demonstrates foundational skills for providing essential care and support in roles related to aged care, disability support, and community care. (NOT essential on domestic work)

Certificate IV in Disability: This qualification signifies expertise in person-centered care, behavior management, and care planning, making candidates well-suited for roles in disability support services. (NOT essential on domestic work)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing one-on-one care and assistance to individuals with disabilities and special needs.

Implementing personalized care plans.

Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and mobility support.

Fostering a compassionate and supportive environment.

Effective communication and collaboration with families, clients, and other care team members.
